Owner's Voice Vol.32 Residence of Mrs. Takada, Osaka

A home where old beauty and modernity harmonize and a family story begins.

Upon their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Takada decided to renovate an old storehouse of unknown age on their family's property into a home.
The space, surrounded by massive mud walls and plaster, is a tranquil world of harmony and modernity, centered around the Toyo Kitchen Style "iNO Q-LAND".

A home where old beauty and modernity harmonize and a family story begins.

An otherworldly space in a renovated warehouse

Upon opening the entrance, you will find yourself in a different world, colored by soft indirect lighting.

The thick mud walls and plaster walls create a calm atmosphere that makes you forget all the outside noise.
This is the home of Mr. and Mrs. Takada, who started their married life this year.
A warehouse on the family's property was renovated and transformed into a new living space.

The original two-story house was originally a two-story structure, but we removed the ceiling to make it one floor, and added a skylight to create more space and brightness than we had imagined," says the husband.
On the other hand, the owner dared to leave intact the storehouse's age-old features, such as the thick beams and pillars, and the iron latticework on the windows.
According to the wife, "Old fixtures are attractive in their own right, so we decided to create a space that evokes both Japanese and Western influences.

With this in mind, she chose Toyo Kitchen Style's "iNO Q-LAND" as the "Western symbol.
The solid square shape of the kitchen is strikingly sculptural and three-dimensional.
The stately Japanese style and modern design resonate with each other, creating a space that is unique to this house.

Attracted from the first encounter, the kitchen at Zero flow

I didn't know they had kitchens like this.
When the owner first started building his house, he stopped to look at the Toyo Kitchen Style Osaka showroom.
The iNO Q-LAND, with its three-dimensional form, was right in front of his eyes.
The square shape was very fresh, and I thought it would be nice to be able to eat in the kitchen.
I thought it would make the space feel more spacious, while still maintaining the atmosphere of the warehouse," said the master.

The wife was also strongly attracted by its presence.
It's hard to find a kitchen that sparkles like this," she says.
So I thought it would be good to place it boldly in the center of the space to make it stand out.

We decided on a peninsula type kitchen, or a kitchen separated from the dining room.
The couple had been mulling over the layout and design of their kitchen on their computer, but when they saw the iNO Q-LAND, their minds were made up at once.

She was also attracted to the iNO Q-LAND after hearing the showroom stylist's explanation of Toyo Kitchen Style's unique "Zero flow," which streamlines the flow line from cooking to cleanup, and "PARALLELO Sink," which allows cooking to be completed in the sink.
She said, "It's really convenient that you can pass a cutting board over the sink and cook on it, and that you can put a Gaggenau dishwasher right under the induction cooktop.
I thought this was really Zero flow."

In addition to the visual impression, the husband emphasizes the overall balance of the structure and floor plan, while the wife focuses on the ease of use in daily life.
From both perspectives, "iNO Q-LAND" passed the test.

The wife commented, "There is no end to the good points, such as the wide open leg space (AIR FLOW) and the smooth entry of the robot vacuum cleaner.
The kitchen is well thought out, so it's fun to use and makes me want to cook naturally," she smiles.

Philosophy of living reflected in interior design

After deciding on the kitchen, the couple also selected several interior items at the showroom.
The sofa, which occupies a large area, was selected in white to make the space look more spacious, and the stools to match the kitchen counter were selected in black for a tightening effect.
After much deliberation, they chose the beautiful "Jogari 35SP" lighting with its delicate Murano glass ornaments.
The master says, "I saw this light and loved it at first sight.
The wife, on the other hand, recalls, "I was a little against it at first because I couldn't imagine what it would look like when hung.
I didn't want the room to feel oppressive, and I was worried that the glass might break if a child touched it in the future.

But my worries were not to be.
Once installed, the room looks great, and I love it.
It's safe because it's at a height where small children can't reach it, and above all, it goes well with the presence of the beams.

As she said, the strength of the beams, which have turned candy-colored over time, and the glass lighting, which is both glamorous and relaxed, complement each other beautifully.

Lighting was hung from the high ceiling of the atrium, and the height was determined to balance with the beams.

A 360-degree rotatable Zero flow faucet and a Tallboy faucet with hose. 2 faucets further enhance cooking efficiency.

Enjoying Cooking Everyday and Beyond

And one more thing.
The stylish presence of a wall-mounted gas heater (FLRAME) in the spacious LDK, which still retains the look of a warehouse, is a key feature of the house.
I saw this stove in a showroom and was attracted to the fact that gas heaters provide warmth, and since it is not floor-mounted, it doesn't make the room look cramped.
The wife nodded her head and said, "I don't like to have a lot of stuff, either, so I like the clean look.

It has now been three months since they started living in their new house.
When we asked her again about her impressions of the kitchen, she replied, "It's a lot more natural for me to feel like cooking.
My desire to cook has naturally increased.
Actually, I found out I was pregnant at the beginning of this year, and after we moved into this house, I had some bad morning sickness,
But when I stand in this kitchen, I feel like cooking.
I have always loved to cook, but recently I have been expanding the range of dishes I want to make.

When talking with friends online, she is often complimented on how stylish her kitchen is, and she says that it also looks good when she takes pictures of her cooking.
That alone makes me feel more positive and motivated.
Next to her, the husband smiles, "My wife seems to be enjoying herself in the kitchen, even though her belly is getting bigger little by little.

The husband gently watches over his wife as she enjoys cooking in her daily life.
His gaze seems to reflect a warm future with his soon-to-be-born little family.
