Owner's Voice Vol.33 K Residence

The gold shines on the inherited ground. Zero flow kitchen

The entire space of Mr. K's residence was coordinated with the coveted "Zero flow kitchen" as the star of the show.
The Japanese taste and gold shine bring a sense of comfort to their lives.
We interviewed Mrs. K about the daily enjoyment and peace of mind that spreads around the kitchen.

The gold shines on the inherited ground. Zero flow kitchen

A life with good chi flow, drawn on inherited land

Mr. and Mrs. K built a new home on the site where their nearly 100-year-old main house and annex once stood side by side.
The reason for this project was the passing of their parents, who had lived in the main house for a long time.
Inheriting the memories of their beloved land, they created a neat home that incorporates the fittings and design of the old house in a modern essence, and also incorporates the concept of Feng Shui.
The previous house was a Japanese-style house dating back to the Taisho era.
It was surrounded by trees and was said by neighbors to be like a temple, but in terms of Feng Shui, it had many chips and irregularities.
So this time, we told the architects that we wanted to create a house with a good flow of chi based on harmony, and they faithfully recreated the house," says the wife.

The iNO Q-LAND island model by Toyo Kitchen Style was installed in the new house.
The gold presence against the wood texture is a symbol of the space.

The longing was turned into conviction, and the gold Zero flow kitchen

In fact, the wife first came to know about Toyo Kitchen Style a long time ago.
When I was still single, I saw it in a magazine and thought I would be happy if I could live in a house with a kitchen like this in the future.
At the time, it was just a vague longing, so I had never even been to a showroom until we started building the house.

It was in the spring of 2022 that the wife and her husband visited the Tokyo showroom for the first time.
After seeing the one-of-a-kind design in person, she says she was convinced that her vague idea of what she wanted had become reality.
Before I saw the actual kitchen, I thought this kitchen would be more for the younger generation," she says.
But after talking to the stylist in the showroom and learning more about Zero flow kitchen, I realized that was not the case at all, and I couldn't think of anything else.
And the gold kitchen seemed to blend in with the Japanese design, so I liked it at first glance.

Zero flow kitchen The "TOYO KITCHEN" refers to the unique TOYO KITCHEN STYLE kitchen, which minimizes unnecessary flow lines when cooking.
The "PARALLELO Sink" cooking sink completes a series of cooking tasks such as washing, cutting, and serving in the sink, and the distance between the sink and stove is minimized to eliminate the loss of horizontal movement and improve work efficiency.

The wife, who values food in her daily life, was convinced by the high level of functionality as well as the good appearance of the kitchen.
She had been considering a parallel plan with a separate sink and stove, but decided at once to change the specifications to the island-type Zero flow kitchen. "In the end, we decided to go with a kitchen from another manufacturer," she says.

In the end, we didn't look at any other manufacturers' kitchens.
If I look at too many, I can't make a decision, and in my case, I've often found that what I thought was the best on first impression turned out to be the best later on.

The gold kitchen, with its restrained brilliance, is in perfect harmony with the sliding lattice door between the kitchen and the living room, as her intuition told her.

Cooking appliances are gas and induction together, with hoods over each. Zero flow faucets that can rotate 360 degrees make working in the kitchen much more efficient.

Kitchen in the morning, terrace at night. The pleasure of changing the location depending on the time of day.

The iNO Q-LAND counter space has expanded the scene of my life.
The deep counter makes it easy to use, and we eat breakfast in the kitchen every day, so we don't have a dining table inside.
So we don't have a dining table in the room, and we can use the room spaciously," says the wife.

Then, where do you have dinner? When we asked her, she pointed outside and smiled.
She is sitting on a deep, wooden terrace with a Kartell outdoor table and chairs purchased at Toyo Kitchen Style.
The downlights under the eaves create a great atmosphere when we dine on the terrace at night.
The chairs are comfortable and you don't get tired even if you sit for a long time.
When I dine here with friends, time flies by.

The idea of separating the dining area according to the time of day was inspired by her experiences at Japanese inns and hotels.
I once stayed at a hotel where I could see the TV from the shower booth," she says, "and the fresh feeling I got from that experience made me think that it is important to make efforts to enhance the quality of life.

She enjoys dining in her favorite outdoor dining room, sometimes lighting candles.

I want to enjoy the process of preparing my home.

The finished home is more than just a new vessel.
The walls and ceiling are slightly yellowish to match the gold kitchen.
So the star of the room is really, this kitchen.
The gold color is elegant and blends easily with the wood products, so it blends naturally with the furniture and lighting, creating a sense of cohesion in the space.

From the design stage, the areas where fire and water are used were arranged according to Feng Shui, while the furniture and color scheme prioritized what the client liked.
As a result, a natural and comfortable home was completed.

It has been a few months since they started living in their new home.
Mrs. Yamanouchi says that there have been changes in the way they spend their time in their daily lives.
I used to leave the kitchen as soon as I finished work, but now I feel like I spend more time in the kitchen than on the sofa.
I cook with a glass of wine, or I listen to the radio while I run errands on my phone.
I've always loved to cook, so now my home base is the kitchen.

He continues to make improvements to his living space, such as choosing curtains and lighting.
The wife says that she is looking forward to the process of putting it all together.

The new home on the inherited land will continue to mature as the wife's wishes are carried out.

The K residence breathes a sense of style. In the bedroom on the upper floor, "Mirror 015 Box" (middle), which serves as both a mirror and storage, was selected, and the popular "Klunker" (left) was chosen for lighting. In the washroom, "Mirror 026" (right), a large-capacity storage unit that doubles as a three-sided mirror, was installed.
